BPSim and BPMN 2.0 led Simulation Service Designed to Deliver Flexible, Profitable Business Process Simulation

Lanner, a provider of predictive simulation technology proven to maximise business performance and optimise resources, in partnership with BPM consultancy Trisotech, today announced the availability of a cloud-based business process simulation service atwww.BusinessProcessIncubator.com (BPI). Underpinned by BPMN 2.0, this joint Trisotech/Lanner service represents the first commercial application of WfMC’s recently launched BPSim standard for simulation data. The service aims to provide an easy to access, flexible, yet powerful simulation option for business process management professionals.

New users of simulation can begin by asking simple process-orientated questions concerning a BPMN 2.0 model. The advanced BPMN 2.0 modeler (available via the www.BPMNWebModeler.comwebsite or as a Microsoft Visio plugin atwww.BPMNVisioModeler.com) includes an editor to include BPSim formatted data to models. Simulating the model using the BPI service will return results data that can be analysed or exported. The basic service is free of charge while more advanced simulation functionality is accessed on a subscription basis.
“As simulation plays an increasingly important role in BPM projects, tools which facilitate decision making and process optimisation on a flexible, cost effective and easy to use basis represent an attractive proposition,” comments Geoff Hook, projects director, Lanner.

Denis Gagne, CEO, Trisotech commants

“This offering is the first cloud-based business process simulation solution built completely on industry standards. Not only does this service bring together the agility, elasticity and processing power of the cloud, but it applies leading business process standards including the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0 from OMG and the newly released BPSim standard from WfMC, resulting in enhanced scalability and flexibility. This is a major step forward for the practice of business process analysis.”

“The Lanner and Trisotech partnership represents a strong strategic fit for Business Process Simulation, aligning Lanner’s technological leadership in simulation and optimisation, with the business process modeling simplicity of Trisotech’s BPMN Visio Modeler and BPMN web Modeler.”

Lanner and Trisotech’s BPI simulation service can be accessed here: Business Process Incubator and the modeler is available atwww.BPMNWebModeler.com or www.BPMNVisioModeler.com.
