Tony Waller visits the University of Greenwich, as they lead the way in simulation innovation.

Last Wednesday was a very productive day as I had a meeting with Dr Alan Arokiam of the University of Greenwich. They are one of many UK Universities that have a Gold Academic Partnership for WITNESS with Lanner and that has led to many projects in their PhD programs that are breaking the bounds of traditional simulation.

One such project was looking at the use of WITNESS simulation to model the critical success factors for the implementation of ERP systems in an SME company called Priorclave, a leading UK manufacturer of laboratory autoclaves. For more details on this please view the video presentation here.

During our meeting, aptly in the sunshine, we were discussing new and innovative modelling of the use of energy in manufacturing, particularly the effects of temperature variation, one of several projects set up with Ford Motor Company.

Working with innovative Universities is always inspiring and the work undertaken at Greenwich in their Engineering School with WITNESS is certainly that.
