The Age of Predictive Simulation has Arrived

This is an exciting time of change for businesses in every industry. The urgency to drive improved customer value at lower cost through the use of new disruptive digital technologies, including Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT), is forcing the rapid creation of new operating models in every sector and every geography. Static spreadsheets and rear-view business measures are no longer valid for assessing such complex change options, Industry now recognises that predictive analytical methods are needed.

A New Era

In January 2019, Lanner was acquired by Royal HaskoningDHV, a Dutch Engineering and Project Management consultancy, as part of their strategy to expand their digital capabilities and offer clients greater support when making critical business decisions.

With both company cultures and vision aligned, Royal HaskoningDHV and Lanner are able to add additional value to their customers operating in diverse sectors across the world. The predictive simulation technology provided by Lanner supports and strengthens Royal HaskoningDHV’s focus on building its digital twin offering.

Lanner’s WITNESS software provides optimisation capabilities, together with scenario management functionality. When combined with Royal HaskoningDHV’s broader digital capabilities, clients can be supported with a predictive digital twin that is able to hunt for the optimum balance between customer service levels and operational costs.

Lanner’s Mission

From inception, Lanner has been seen as a visionary, through our leading predictive simulation technology and for the innovative assets delivered to our ambitious customers. Our mission has been consistent - to enable smart dynamic businesses with smart dynamic processes. We’ve developed a powerful and agile capability to deliver on this mission across many different industries, having created value for every sector within which we’ve engaged.

We are neither a software nor a consulting company. The capability we’ve developed is a blend of both. This is a balance that many firms will strive for as they seek to bolt on data science and analytics into business-as-usual operations. Many leading consulting firms are now looking to blend decision-support technologies into their expertise-driven business models for the same reason. Being seamlessly agile on the technology, analytics and people front will be essential for many firms in the future.

To drive greater senior-level engagement and collaboration we’ve invested in technology developments to enable us to perform this virtual world business process gamification at a fully immersive level. Firms such as Hayward Tyler have used this to support  strategic business transformation and subsequent intelligent business operations management. Highly visual engagement with the end-to-end business process owners secures collaborative engagement across all stakeholders, including management, customers, investors and employees. This style of collaboration will drive the agile, adaptive business of the future.

Our History

Lanner was formed by a management buyout from AT&T in 1996, and is now recognised as the world's leading predictive simulation and optimisation technology company. Our mission remains to pioneer predictive simulation, empowering people to create a better future for their business through smarter decision making.

We deserve our strong reputation and track record of creating customer value. We've spent years repeatedly delivering simulation-based planning and decision support to customers and partners, across many different industries and business processes.

Our ability to solve a wide spectrum of business problems is a result of the agility and flexibility that has been consciously built into our technology and team. We are a safe pair of hands with the experience, technology and skills to deliver model assets that improve decision-making, enhance revenues, reduce costs, and optimise operations.
