BBC World programme 'The Health Show' takes a look at the work being carried out by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, with the help of WITNESS.

As visitors to, or guests at our recent WITNESS User Conference 2011, you will know that WITNESS software has been used by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine to model alternative ways of diagnosing Tuberculosis in South Africa. The technology modelled, GeneXpert, significantly reduces the diagnosis time, allowing patients to be treated quicker, which helps to stop the spread of the disease.

Recently ‘The Health Show’, produced for BBC World, highlighted the work being carried out by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. The show follows the work being undertaken in South Africa, as well as in the UK, and features a working WITNESS model of the Diagnostic Centre, demonstrating how many patients can be tested and treated at any one time.

We are proud that our software has been able to support and assist such a worthy project; you can watch the programme below to learn more about the work that is being carried out.
