WITNESS is available in two distinct versions - the Manufacturing Performance Edition and the Service and Process Performance Edition. Platform Requirements
The WITNESS simulation system is supported on the following hardware and software platforms:
Windows
- Intel® Pentium® or AMD ® processor
- Minimum Processor Speed 500MHz, >2GHz recommended.
- Windows NT 4 (SP3 and above), Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows VISTA
- 256MB of RAM (512MB recommended)
- Approx. 100MB of available hard-disk space
- 800x600 screen resolution (1024x768 or above recommended)
- CD-ROM/DVD drive (WITNESS issued on CD)
- Parallel port or USB socket required for security device.
- WITNESS VR requires graphics acceleration for best performance. OPENGL ® or DIRECT3D ® acceleration. Examples include GeForce ® or ATI Radeon ® graphics cards commonly supplied with PC’s. Please ask Lanner for more details as the range available alters frequently.
- Sound Card optional to support multimedia features such as sound files and video with sound which may optionally be embedded in a WITNESS model.
- WITNESS SDX requires output from FactoryCAD software from UGS – contact Lanner for further details.
- The WITNESS VISIO LINK and the WITNESS VISIO SIMULATION SOLUTION require Microsoft ® VISIO ® 2002 or 2003 (2003 recommended). For VISIO platform recommendations and restrictions please refer to the Microsoft VISIO web site.
PC Network versions of WITNESS are available and can be supported on Microsoft ® Windows ® and Novell ® networks, utilizing a number of network protocols including NetBIOS, IPX and TCP/IP.
