With the ‘End’ in Mind

It is always a challenge to educate the management team of a company on the benefits of simulation…..
I was a speaker at the recent WITNESS Reseller Workshop in Dublin Ireland and enjoyed meeting the folks who sell WITNESS from all over the world. My topic covered best practices for implementing simulation at a company and positioning WITNESS. It is always a challenge to educate the management team of a company on the benefits of simulation if they’ve never worked on a project before. My best advice is to begin with the “end” in mind, the Management team who will gain the most benefit from using simulation want to focus on results and modellers who will build the simulation want to focus on how to build a model. It is an important balance to strike between the two and we do our best to manage both.
