As summer begins to wind down, readers will be pleased to hear that activity at Lanner is heating up! Over the coming months look out for a number of simulation events that Lanner is participating in. The headliner is the 2012 WITNESS User Conference, being held in Birmingham, UK on October 15th and 16th. This popular event features customer guest presenters, mentoring sessions and of course, great networking opportunities. This year's attendees will also get an exclusive sneak preview of WITNESS 13, due early 2013.

I’m also looking forward to seeing the results of the WITNESS academic contest. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time working with students and professors to bring simulation and WITNESS to their universities, and seen some amazing work done amongst our academic users. The academic contest (details to be released soon) is another opportunity for students to expand their simulation skills, and win a great prize while they’re at it.

Lanner will also be represented at the Michigan Simulation User Group, being held  October 17, and the Winter Simulation Conference (http://www.wintersim.org/), December 9 -12 in Berlin, Germany. Both of these events bring together simulation users to discuss best practice and interact with simulation users from around the world.
