In September, Lanner extended the service we offer to customers on support with its new MyLanner Portal offering a 24/7 capability to log, track cases and gain access to solutions. We continue to invest in support with new staff and new services.

Adding Further Enhancements to WITNESS

The spring release of WITNESS delivered a step forward in simulation capability through enhancements in conveyors and in ease of use through grid editing. Yet this is just the first step in many. All customers having WITNESS on support or purchasing new licenses will receive a great, yet simple to use, 3D simulation model animation capability in the New Year release.

Adding Simplicity to License Management

To provide supported users with simpler licensing administration, Lanner is moving to dongle-less software licensing. Software licensing will offer a range of benefits including:

• Simplified 24/7 self service installation and administration.

• For networks installations - redundant server support, off-network working and improved usage reporting.

• Soft licensing also avoids the use of portable USB devices which are not now allowed in many secure environments.

The transition to soft licensing will be taking place, in communication with users, over a 12 month period and will be the recommended option with the WITNESS New Year release. Dongle licensing will remain an option.

The WITNESS user conference is scheduled for March 4th 2009 at the Thinktank, Birmingham, UK. This will be preceded on the 3rd March by a free training workshop covering recently released features in WITNESS. The registration form is now available on-line and our website will be regularly updated with news and details concerning the event. We are currently shaping the agenda and recruiting speakers, if you are interested in presenting please contact us.
